CUSTOMS RETURNS.

Wellington, Last Night. The Customs return* for the eolory for last mouth are almost complete, the exception being Mongonui, which usually gives a very small amount. The total, so far, is L 100.497. For October the amount wasLliO 466,while for November, 1884, it was only L 96.427. The amounts collected at the principal ports wars Auckland. L 24.959, which is a good increase over October, end also November, 1784 ; Wellington, L17.&61, which is a decrease as compared with the amount collected in October, but an increase on the returns of November last year; Christchurch, L 13,716; and Dunedin, L 22,809. Both show * decrease as compared with the other months. For the eight months of the financial year, the total Customs revenue for the colony ia L 852,344, which is a deficiency of LB9B, as compared with the Colonial Treasurer’s estimate for the

year. Toe beer duty collected last month was L. 4,366 For the corresponding month fast year it was L 4.784, while for October this year it was Lit,64l. At Auckland the amount ooileo.ed last month was LA,OBI, which is about as much as that received ior the corresponding mouth last year; at Dunedin, 1*1,U43, there is also a small increase, but at We.liugtou, L4i9 aad Christchurch, L 946, there ha* been a slight failing off.
