The newly-elected members were sworn in by the Speaker, the Hon Edward Barton,and the House adjourned. The Opposition members are in a majority, but what course of action they will adopt has not transpired. Sir Henry Parkes took an opportunity this afternoon to renounce bis ' claims to the Premiership. New Guinea. An expedition, fully armed and equipped, will shortly start from Thursday Island for New Guinea to prosecute a diligent search for the Geographical Society’s expedition.
