MOUNT SOMERS ROAD BOARD.
The trdirary monthly meeting of the Mount Somers Roid Board was held at the Board’s office, Mount Somers, on Monday. Present Messrs Pcaohe, Walker, McParlane, and Mcßae, ANNUAL RATE It was resolved that the making of a rate be deferred for a month pending communication with the Colonial Treasurer as to the hearing of the Local Bodies Finance and dwers Act thereon. MOUNT HUIT ROAD BO »RD. A letter was read from the Mount Hatt Road Board, agreeing to pay share of cost of keeping river fords and boundary road in repair. boss’s cutting Mr 6. McMillan interviewed the Board with regard to Ross's cutting, and it was ultimately determined not to form a new cutting, but to repair the old one at a cost not exceeding L2O. NEW ROAD. The Board agreed to contribute half cost, not exceeding L2 10s, of forming road to Mr J. Carney’s section 2034. TENDER The tender of I). Forbes for shingling Gorge Road at Is 2d a yard was accepted. ovbrs-br’s report The Overseer reported (1) the Gorge Road from Mount Possession to Olent Hills had been repaired; (2) Ross’s cutting is quite impassable, and the track down Potts’s river washed away; estimated cost of repairs, LiO to L 3 6; (3) the Gorte rosd requires shingling; (4) the bridge on Rutherford’s road should be removed and a ford made ; (6) Mr Neil has finished his road in a satisfactory manner, and is entitled to grant of LII 10s. The report was adopted. POUND ROAD. The Overseer was directed to report upon the Pound Road. UNPAID BATESThe Olerk wa. authorised to have searches made in Registry Office for owners of certain sections on which rates are unpaid. PAYMENTS. The usual monthly accounts having bee i passed for payment the Board adjourned.
