Arrived—-Arawata from Fiji. _ The Fiji Annexation Committee have I resolved to forward a petition in favor ot 1 annexation to New Zealand to the Premier I for presentation, and a letter to Sir Geo. I Grey, asking his continued support. I The Fjjian Times expresses surprise an * regret at the extremely courteous (?) tone Of the reply received from the New Zealand Government It says the Premier never manifested any interest in Sooth Sea affairs, but they expected a different feeling from Sir Julius Vogel, and observed that the reply contrasts singularly with the enthusiasm displays 1 all over Samoa Holmhnrst will commence crashing sad taming oat 8 tons a week. Connolly's Commercial Hotel, Levuka, waa burned down. A horrible doable murder has been perpetrated. Two of Uoore’a Polynesian laborers were found mutilated, their heads severed from their bodies. Two Fijians have been arrested on suspicion
