London, Jane 30. Mr Childers, lately Chancellor of the Exchequer, has been granted a pension of L 2,000 a year. The Canadian four per cent loan for L 5,000,000 was successfully floated at an average of LIOO 2a 6d. The minimum fixed was L 99. London, July 1. Neva has been received that Russian troops on the Afghan frontier are constructing a bridge across the Mnrghab river to Penidoh. Reinforcements of-the Russian troops have also arrived at Sarahks, the place seized by Russians some time ago. The Persians are fortifying their frontier on the Heri Rud river along the route of the Russian advance.
A cannon foundry has been started in Herat.
