Sydney, July 4. The officers of the Contingent are to be banqueted. The Cabots enquiry is proceeding. Captain Walker and the officers assert at the time of the accident the weather was thick with blinding rain. A number of passengers assert this evidence is untrue, and that the weather was fine, and that trees could be distinctly seen on the shore. The action against the Government in the Cootamundra case resulted in a unanimous verdict for the Government. This was a test case, and had it been successful a large number of actions would have been brought. The Government will introduce a Public Health Bill, which will apply more particularly to city sad suburbs.
