Friday, June 12. The Honse met at 2 30 p. m. hours or srnftNO. Mr Maoandraw gave notice to move that the House should meet during the session at half-past 10 *.m., and adjonra at half-past five. N S.W. CONTINGENT. Sir George Grey gave notice to move that an address be presented to the Queen, congratulating Her Majesty upon the steps taken by New Sooth Walee to render assistance to England in time of need. RILLS. The Hon Mr Ballanca gave notice of the following Bills—Land Act, 1885, Kaitangata Reclamation Aet, 1885, Native Lands Disposition Ret, 1885, Native Lands Consolidation Act, 1886. The following Bills were introduced— Wellington Public Street Closing Bill (Mr Stoat) ; Canterbury and Otago Marriage Bill (Mr Stout); Administration Act, 1879, Amendment Bill (Mr Stout); Mercantile Law Act Amendment, 1880, Amendment Bill (Mr Stout); Patents - Act, 1883, Amendment Bill (Sir Julius, Vogel); Bills to amend laws relating to fire and marine Insurance companies and foreign companies (Sir Julius Vouel); - f Inventions Protection Bill (Sir Julias Vogel) ; Bill to abolish plurality of voting at election of members of the Home of Representatives (Sir George Grey).; BUI relating to encaursgement of fisheries Ilk New Zealand (Sir Julius Vogel) ; Bill relating to establishment of State forests in in New Zealand (Sir Julias Vogel); Bill changing trusts of the Christchurch market reserves (Mr Holmes); Bill to . validate Christchurch Municipal Council Public Works Loan (Mr Holmes); BUI to regulate the admission of persons to prao- . tice in Courts of law (Sir George Grey) ; Bill to provide facilities for the enforcement oi lodgments recovered in Courts of inferior jurisdiction (Sir George Grey). COMMITTEES The usual sessional Committees were then appointed. addrssb-in-rsply. The Hon Mr Stoat said that it having bean represented to the Government by the member for Waitotara that it would be more convenient'to the House generally if the Reply were not considered till Tuesday, he desired to move that the motion be ad jammed till Tuesday next. He understood that the mover of the Address (Mr Pearson) was quite willfug that course should be adopted. The Hon Mr Bryce said, as far as he was personally concerned, he should prefer that the motion would be allowed to pro ceed, but he thought, in justice to absent members, it would be hardly fair to consider the Address-in-Reply. After some further discussion the House adjourned at 3 p m. till Tuesday next.
