Licensing. Blenheim;, To day,

The Awatere Licensing Committee unanimously refused a new license on the Middle Renwick Road on the gromd that another hotel was not required in the district. This was the only license applied for in the whole of Marlborough. Suicides.

Chkistuhukch, To-day,

A farmer named Godfrey Leaohfield. residing at Papanui, committed suicide by cutting his throat yesterday. Frank Nicholson, architect, committed suicide in the Terminus Hotel yesterday, by shooting himself in the bead. Mr Montgomery. Mr W, Montgomery, M. H. R, for Akaroa, addressed his constituents last night and received a vote of thanks and confidence, In his speech he declared himself a supporter of the Government, with the right to oppose any measures he did not approve of.
