The dispute between the Pacific Mail Company and Seamen’s Union relative to employment of Chinese aboard the Zealandia still continues. The Company ate now shipping a fresh crew for the vessel under the protection of the police, to avoid intimidation. Shipping. Arrived—Wakatipu, from Wellington this afternoon. Defence. Brisbane, Yesterday Precautionary measures, in view ot a possible outbreak of war between England and Russia, are being taken by the Queensland Government in order to place the colony in a better state of defence. The various forces are being increased, and stringent regulations have been drawn up to control the! entry of foreign and other vessels into Moreton Bay.
