Colonial breadstuds— Adelaide wheat, ex store, is quoted at 36s 6d, being an advance of 6d; New Zealand wheat remains a 28s to 345; Adelaide flour has advanced 6d, to 25s 6d. The total quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,720,000 quarters. Australian tallow—Beef, average quality, has declined to 325; mutton do, 335. The best Sydney sundried copra is quoted at Ll 5 ss, being a decline of 10s per ton. The best Australian leather remains at 1 id. New Zealand frozen mutton, prime quality, has advanced during the week by a half-penny, and is now realising 6d Royal Visit to Ireland. London, March 14. At a meeting of the Parnellite members r of Parliament to-day, it was resolved that the projected visit of the Prince of Wales to Ireland is ill-timed, but while deprecating any incivility to his Royal Highness, it is recommended that the Irish people abstain from according the Prince any formal receplion. The Nation’s Tribute. In the House of Commons to day a vote was passed granting L 20,000 to the family of the late General Gordon. The motion was carried without debate, and a Committee was appointed to undertake the formation of a national memorial to the late General Gordon. Shipping. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s R.M.S. Kaikoura left Plymouth this morning for Wellington via Teneriffe and the Cape. Under Suspicion. ■ Oaibo, March 14. Zebhr Pasha, having been suspected of communicating with the Mahdi, has been arrested and conveyed on board H.M.S. Iris, at Alexandria. (Received March 16,12.30 p.m.) . Further Suspects. Cairo, March 15. Zebehr’s son and three others have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the communication believed to have taken place between Zebebr and the Mahdi. The Crisis. London, March 15. A report is current here to-day that i Sir Peter Lumsden has entered Herat, 1 and that thie advance guard of the ! Russians has reached Pul-i-Khalin, on the Heramd river, about 120 miles north-west of Herat.
