; Inquest. Napier. To-day. • An inquest was held this morning on I the body of Mr Robert Miller, father of the well-known stock and station agent, i who ded on Thursday, aged 85. The i deceased was very ill and rapidly sinking, and from tlie evidence it appeared that during the night a dose of liniment was administered inadvertently for the proper medicine. A verdict of accidental death was returned. Rowing Match. Wellington, Last night. Dunedin, Last Night. It is stated that Sir J. Vogel has put off his visit till March 28. Sly Grog-Selling. Four more defendants from the Otago , Central Railway works were fined for sly J grog selling to-day. Inquest. An inquest was Reid on the drayman Creed to-day. It was shown that a train frightened hia horse, which boiled, and he fell off, the wheel passing over his neck. -After the inquest on Creed to-day Dr Brown brought under the notice of the Coroner the fact that a patient had died of puerperal fever at St Kilda, and that the nurse had refused to obey his warning not to attend other patients. The Coroner said he could do nothing. Dr Brown has since referred the question to the Mayor of St Kilda, who has telegraphed to the Colonial Secretary to know if any action can be taken in the matter. The Wakatipu. The Wakatipu has been five weeks in port, and during that time has received a thorough overhaul from stem to {stern. She made a trial trip to-day and got up to 14 knots. Death. The man, Fitzpatrick, who was so badly hurt by a reaping machine at Clutha, died after amputation of bis leg, mortification having set in.
