A cricket match was commenced at the Sports Ground, South East Ball, to-d y, between the Ashburton and Addington Cricket Clubs. The visiters were the first to bat, and although a fairly representative team from a strong Club, could not make a prolonged stand against the bowling of Messrs Oaygill and Andrews, assisted as it was by a very treacherous wicket. During the innings Mr Thomas made a remarkably fine catch which disposed of Mr Ashby, and Mr Caygill bowled with great judgment and success, fhe following were the scores at 3 p.m.■ Addington.
