Will be ran on the same principle as a donkey race, the lost horse winning. RULES. 1. All races confined to district horses. 2. A district horse shall mean any horse that lias been commonly resident in that portion of the old Mount Somers Road District lying south of the north Ashburton from 30th September, 1884, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting, and owned by a person who has resided in the said district during tha same period. 3 The decision of the Committee whom they may appoint to be final in cases of dispute or on all points in carrying out the programme. 4 All horses must be ridden out as long as they have a reasonable chance of winning. 5. Three horses the bona fide property of different owners to start or no race. 6. No protest will be entertained made within 30 minutes after the race run, accompanied by a deposit of which may be forfeite 1 should the eit prove frivolous 7. Owners of horses must be subscribers of 10a to the fund. 8. Race No 5 will be confined to employees on stations paying rent for waste lands of the Crown. First race to start at 11 a.m, W.
