The Wool Sales. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, held their usual weekly sale to-day, when a catalogue comprising 4,080 bales was submitted. There was the usual large attendance of buyers, and competition for all lots was keen, 3,500 bales being disposed of under the hammer at very satisfactory rates The market was very firm at late, prices. Shipping. Sydney, Yesterday. Sailed, this afternoon—Tarawtra, for Auckland. Prorogation of Parliament. Parliament was prorogued to-day. The recess is expected to last about six months. Arrived. „ Adelaide, Yesterday. Arrived, this afternoon—the Orient steamship John Elder, with the Brindisi mails dated London, October 24th.
