PARLIAMENTARY.

LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. ' Saturday, November 1. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. BILLS.

The Beetroot Sugar Bill and the Westland Education Sub-division Bill were read a first time.

The motion for the third reading of the Drainage of Mines Bill was carried by 18 to - 12, and afterwards passed. ' . The Municipal Corporations Bill, and the Electric Lines Bill were also considered ln ; Committee, read a third time and passed. The Wanganui Harbor Board Empowering Bill was committed, and reported with amendments.

The Council adjourned at 4.30 p.m. till Tuesday at 2.30 p.m.
