WOOLLEN FACTORY.

A general meeting of the shareholders I of the Ashburton..Woollen Factory was held at the Arcade Chambers this afternoon for the purpose of confirming a resolution adopted at the last general meeting, empowering the Directors to borrow on debenture nr mortgage and to take mortgages to secure themselves in respect to any guarantee they may have given. And further to ratify and confirm any loans heretofore obtained by the Directors, and to authorise notices required to be served upon shareholders ti bo posted. There was alair ti lf . r/l-iaco, and Mr H. Friedlander occupied the chair. On the motion of Mr B. Q. Wright, seconded by Mr Thomas Bullock, the resolutions were confirmed. In reply to Mr Wright, the Chairman said that if the Directors found themselves able to procure the necetsary capital, the Factory would be forthwith started. He thought that a loan of L5,C00 or L 6,000 would suable them to do so. No preferential shares had been issued. The proceedings terminated with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
