IS THIS CONSISTENCY.
To the Editor. Sib, —Having heard to-day thai the Catholics are again ordered to iupport Mr Iveaa, their quondam friend, let me remind them before it is too late, that it was Mr Ivess who. promised them he qrould a pport Denominational education, r, in other words, he. wquU Uk« to «q«
the children of Catholics enjoying State aid independently of the present system of education. This was said directly after the contest in 1881, when Mr Irecs spoke at the laying of the foundation stone of the Jatholic Church in this town. I was present and heard him, and I would ask the Catholic e'-r-tors who, I feel, are not to e ) , • jed to rote agaiust their own conscience—when, a sound practical man like Mr Grigg comes forward—to remember the shuffling inconsistency of a man who cares no more for you than on the first opportunity directly voting against your creed, and obtaining your votes for simple personal vanity. Catholics! remember Mr Ivess and mark him well, for he never can sopport your interests in any way. Support Mr Grigg to-morrow and you will never have reason to regret the advice of DEHOMUfATieSAIIST.
