Mr Pilliet is understood to have intimated his williugnsss to stand again for iitanmora.

The Christchurch Registrar of Electors refused to accept any more claims to be put cn the roll as soon as the fact that the writs were issed was known, at half past two yesterday afternoon. Dissatisfaction is felt at this, as the Act limits enrolment to the day after the issue of the writs. During the past week 250 to 300 names have been added every day to the electoral rolls for the city and suburbs. A requisition has been signed to Mr 0. Lightbxnd to stand for Stamcora. Mr Wilfred Badger addressed the Stanmore electors last night, and received a vote of thanks.

Mr J. G. Ruddenklau declines to stand for Sydenham, but he is to be asked to come forward for Stanmora. Mr J. L. Coster has determined to run for the Heathoote seat. Mr Edward Wakefield announces his intention to seek re-eleotjiJ& for Selwyn. Dr Newman seeks re-electfim for Thorndon.

Mr R. 0. Bruce will contest Rangitikei.

The writs for the four Maori Electoral Districts fix nominations for the 7th July, and the polling for the 2lat. Mr M. W. Green addressed the Dunedin East electors last evening. He declared himself a supporter of the present Government until, in his opinion, a better one is formed.

Mr Lumsden, one of the candidates for Invercargill, addressed a very large meeting of electors last night, and received an almost unanimous vote of thanks for his address. Mr Lumsden said he‘ was iu favor of giving Sir G. Grey a chance of forming a Ministry.

The fight for Tuapeka seat will bo between Mr G. F. Browne and Mr J. C. Brown.
