FIRES..
(by telegraph.) . Bi I KNHBiK J Ta-dar. A house, owned and tenanted by Ja*. Foster, an old resident, was bornejl down at one o'clock this morning. Nothing was saved but a few sticks of; furniture. 7The supposed cause is that the. sparks or embers from the kitchen fire left burning when the inmates retired to rest set the place alight. The house was insured for L3OO in the Standard, and the furniture for LIOO in the New Zealand. The. house was new, and cost LSOO. Another • fire broke out in the roof of an oid house tenanted by Edward Purser at six o’clock this morning, the cause being thesparks from the chimney, which ignited the shingles. The damage was very slight. The insurance on the house was L2OO, and on the furniture' li2oo, both in the Norwich Union. ' ' DmnsMN, To-day. A house and stable, at Pine Hill, earned by Cornelias Bunbery, was burned' down yesterday. It was insured in the New Zealand for L 550.
