[PUB PRBS3 ASSOCIATION. ] Game Licenses. Auckland, To-day. The amount received for game licenses this season was L 443. Obituary. Dr Armitage of 'i’auranga, who served through the Uriwera campaign, is dead. Municipal. Mr Rattray defeated Mr Sharland in the City Council yesterday by 35 votes. Accident. Charles Walters, the quartermaster of the Manapouri, fell down the lorehatch of that vessel to-day and received injuries which proved fatal. A Commission. Blenheim, To-day. A commission, consisting of Captain Hume and Mr Gr. S. Cooper, has been appointed to enquire into charges preferred against Mr Turnbull, R. M., by another official here. The Commission will sit within a month. A Rosy Billet. The Borough Council unanimously appointed William Nosworthy to the combined offices of Town Clerk, Rate Collector, Borough Treasurer, Inspector of Works, and Registrar of Dogs, at L 125 ner annum.
