FIRES.

[by telegraph ] ‘ Nelson, To-day, A fire broke out in the stables of McGee’s Nelson Hotel. When discovered it had such a firm hold that it was found impossible to save three horses in the stable, one belonging to McGee, another a thoroughbred, to Mr Sevan, of Gable ’Bay, and the third to Mr Morley. A quantity of furniture and stores kept in the stable was totally destroyed. The otoly insurance was on the building for LIOO in the South British. The origin of the fire Is unknown. Blenheim, To-day. - The dwelling-house of John Brydon, at Renwickton, was burned down on Saturday The furniture was almost totally destroyed. The cause is unknown. The insurances were—Lloo on the house and LSO on the furniture, both in the Boyal office. •
