[bt xblkobaph.] Gisborne, To-day. Mr Locke addressed a public meeting m Monday night, and Mr Gannon last light. There were large attendances, and t vote of thanks was passed by a large najerity to Mr Locke, and a vote of oonidence to Mr Gannon almost unaninously. Mr Locke promises independent supjort to the Ministry next session. He vould give the Government a pre-emptive shance for a few years in the King Country, bat it would be totally inapplioible here. Mr Gannon goes in for free trade in native lauds all over the island, under certain safeguards. He did not absolutely declare in favor of any party, but praised Sir George Grey, especially for his policy as regards native lands. Mr Rees addressed a meeting at Ormond on Monday night, and received a vote of confidence.
