ThBUTBR’S TELEGRAMS —COWHIGHT. [Received May 12, 10 60 a.m.] Tl*e Sue:; Mail. Melbourne, lo day. Arrived, last evening—P. and O. steamship with the Sue? mails, dated London, April 4th. The Suez Canal Conference. Mr Service hais received a telegram aiuung that Sir Andrew Clarke will represent the colonies at the conference of European delegates in reference to the Suez canal. A Protest The Governments of the Australian Colonies have sent by telegraph to the Imperial Government an indentical note, protesting against the action of France, and urging the Governraent # to use continuous and vigorous efforts to prevent the carrying out of the French proposals regarding the recidivistes.
