The total quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,060,000 quarters. Tallow—Australian, average beef, 36s ; ditto mutton, 395. At to - day’s wool auction 10,000 bales were offered. The market continues firm. Good wools of every description are now ruling higher than at the close of last auctions. New Zealand mutton, prime quality, is realising per lb. London, May 10. Consols remain at and New Zealand securities at last quotations. There are no changes to report in the market for colonial produce. At today’s wool sale 10,400 bales were catalogued. TJw Oriental Bank London May 9 With a view to the solution of the financial difficulties of the Oriental Bank, a scheme is now being matured for the purpose of forming a new bank to take over the liabilities and assets' of the insolvent Corporation, London, May 10 The formation of a new Bank to take over the business of the Oriental Banking Corporation is now proceeding, under direction of the Company’s solicitor.

The Observer this morning publishes a telegram from their correspondent at Cairo, stating that orders have beerf received there from the Imperial Government to make preparations to despatch in October a force of 10,000 men, to relieve General Gordon at Khartoum. It is further stated that Lord Wolseley will command the ex pedition.
