■ASHBURTON COURSING CLUB. ” ThV Committee of the Ashburton Conning Club held a meeting last evenat the Somerset Hotel, the attendance of members being good. The chair was taken by the president, Mr Alfred Harrison. The minutes of the previous meet* ing were read and confirmed. Mr Taylor was elected as a new member of the Club, and it was decided (hat the cards of the meet to be hold to-morrow, should be two shillings to non-members and one shilling to members The refreshment privileges, it was resolved, should be the same as on previous occasions; The draw for the coming meeting was then made, and resulted as follows : Purrr Stakes. Mr W. Zander’s bl w b Fairy Queen, Tiger—Tell Tale, meets Mr B. Duncan’s bl w Flying Colors, Champagne Charlie — Marigold. , Mr T. Matter’s fw b Ivy, Derby—Lancaster Witch, meets M* E. Mullholland’s r d Master Charles, Champagne Charlie—- , Heroine. Mr P. Bingham’s bl w d Forget-me-Not (bite Aerolite), Spring—Topsy, meets Mr ' T. Matter’s fw b Woodbine, Derby—Lancashire Witch. Aia-aqkd Stakes. ' Mr f*. Bingham’s rw b Queen of Spain, ' Bluey—Mariiana, meets Mr R. Duncan’s f w d Royal Charlie, Champagne Charlie . Mr J. Gray’s f b Miss Alice,' Hock — .y Cleephila, meets Mr W. Zander’s w rd - - Tarquin, Patrician—Olyto. The number of entries would have been much larger bad it not been for a misconception on the part 4 of certain owners as to the time of closing. No less than nine entries —six for the Puppy Stakes and 'v three for the AU-aged—were received this .morning, but they were of course too . late. To-morrow’s meet will be on lb" Lagmhor estate at the uaual hour.
