The Transvaal Frontier. London, Jan. 9.

Lord Derby has agreed to a modification of the Transvaal frontier re-adjust-ment boundary line being effected, in order to secure the rights of loyal chiefs, and to protect them from molestation by Boers, or by the natives who have not accepted British rule. The Egyptian Ministry. Cairo, Jan. 8

Intelligence is to hand from Tonquin that an explosion has occurred at the French position at Hanoi, Tonquin, resulting in the destruction of two batteries and the loss of a considerable quantity of material. ? Russian Arrests. St Petersburg, Jan. 9. Five men have been arrested here charged with being implicated in the assassination of Colonel Sudeiken of the Russian Gendarmerie on the 30th ultimo.
