[rEHTUr’s TELEGRAMS—COPYRIGHT. ] [deceived Dec. 31, 2 p.m;] A Mutiny. Brisbane, To-day. An extraordinary case of mutiny and murder occurred on board the Swedish brig Natal, on the 26th November last, while bound from Boston to this port. The captain and mate were attacked in their cabins and wounded, and simultaneously the second mate (the captain’s son) was killed and thrown overboard. In the scrimmage which took place afterwards, the captain wa» shot dead by the murderers. One of the sailors and the carpenter obtained the assistance of a passing vessel, and arrived here. Three mutineers were arrested.
[Received Deo. 31, 9 p.m.] The Sugar Trade. Melbourne, To-day. Arrived Messageries Maritiraes steamship Melbourne from Marseilles. She brings Mauritius advices to the 14th inst. Messrs Ireland, Fraser and Company’s circular reports the following clearances of sugar to New Zealand:-?-* Port Lyttelton, 257 tons; Port Chal- 1 mers, 238; Auckland, 237; Wellington, 400; loading for Dunedin, 900 tons. Freight to New Zealand, 40s.
