[REUTER’S TELEGRAMS.— COPYRIGHT.] Sydney, Yesterday. The Conference adopted the resolutions on the subject of annexation previously telegraphed, with a few minor verbal alterations. The question of the Federal Council and its functions comes on for discussion this afternoon. It is expected that a permanent body will be appointed to carry on the work of the convention after its close. At a meeting of the Conference today the draft of the Imperial Bill for defining the constitution and functions of the proposed Australasian Federal Council was under consideration, and occupied the iwbole afternoon. The first seven clauses of the Bill were disposed of, and the meeting then adjourned. [Received Deo. 6. 1 o.m.] vr> r.Y, To-day. A telegram was read ac the Convention yesterday, announcing that France lays claim to the following islands or groups in the Pacific :—New Caledonia, Loyalties, Pines, Marguesas (eleven islands), Societies,Tahiti, Moorea, Low, Archipelago (eighty islands), Australs, Tubuai, Koito and Rapa. France is willing that the Leeward islands near Tahiti should be independent.
