GOLD FOUND IN RAKAIA GORGE.
[by telegraph.] Christchurch, To-day. The prospectors sent out by the Premier Company to examine the Gorge of the Rakaia have returned, and report having discovered a gold bearing reef six feet wide. Specimens brought to town show the gold in the stone. The payable nature is unknown until a practical test is made.
