A QUERY. To the Editor
Sir, —Referring to a paragraph in the Guardian last night 0:1 legal charges, could you tell me if there is a fixed legal charge fora simple transfer of. say, a town section from John D.ibbs to Richard Hobbs ? One legal gentleman charges L 3 2s for this job, while a other only charges LI la. Can it be possible that the former charge is the correct one, and that the latter gentleman so far forgets what is due to hinr.seif and to his profession that he only charges half the legal fee to which he is entitled ? If this be so, I tremble for his future. Where Joes he expect to go to?—lam, etc., David H. Brown. Ashburton, Deo. 1.
