The wool market is firm, and prices for crossbreds are a half-penny to a penny higher than at the close of sales last month. The arrivals to date for the next auctions, commencing on Tuesday, the 20th inst, are 90,000 bales. The total probable amount to be offered, including the bales left over . from the last series, is r 50,000. A Sea Race. A race has been arranged, from Plymouth to Queensland, between the yacht Vestal and the ship Northern Monarch. The vessels will sail on the 24th inst. The Servian Rebellion. Belgrade, Nov. 14. An official announcement was made here to-day to the effect that the recent rising at Scernareka has now been quelled and order restored. South African Affairs. Durban, Nov. 14. Cetewayo, who has been the guest of Mr Osborne, British Commissioner in Zululand, has surrendered to the Im* perial authorities, and will shortly proceed to Capetown. It is announced that the British troops now stationed on the Zulu frontier are about to be withdrawn. Revolt in Egypt. Cairo, Nov. 14, It is reported that another detachment of the Egyptian troops, which was stationed at Suakim, a seaport in the Red Sea, and the scene of a massacre of Egyptian troops fay the Hillmen on the 29th ult., has been attacked and routed with heavy loss by the rebels.
