Owing to the recent heavy rains the course was very hesvy. The attend ancejof spectators to-day was small. The following are the results of the various events ; Mares’ Produce Stakes ; one mile and a quarter. Martini-Henry 1 Capri ... ... ... ... + Little Sister ... ... ... t Copra «.• ... .. ... 3 Betting—9 to 4 on Martini-Henry. Martini-He jry won easily by two lengths. Eight horses started. Time—2min 13aec Flemington Stakes ; five furlongs. King of the Gipsies ... ... 1 Sirocco 2 David 3 Eighteen horses came to the post. King of the Gipsies won a good race by half a length. Time—lmin laoc. Y.R.C. Handicap; one mile and threequarters. Dukedem ... ... ... 1 Sardonyx ... ... ... 2 Anglesey ... ... ... 3 Eighteen horses started. It was a good race, and resulted iu Dukedom winning by half a length. Time -3min iTiseo.
Steeplechase; about three miles. Rory O’More 1 Songster 2 Chrysalis 3 This was a splendid race, and was hotly contested. Rory O’More won by two lengths. Time—7min 12see. Canterbury Plate; two miles. Off Color 1 Commotion 2 Legrand 3 Four horses only started- It was a splendid race with a good finish, Off Color winning by only a neck. Time—3min 48soc. Martini-Benry was scratched for this race. Free Handicap; mile and a furlong. Linda 1 Sniveller 2 Josephine 3 Fourteen horses started, and Linda won by five lengths. Time—2min sseo.
