The weather this morning is cold, but a fair amount of work has been done. ’ The; only Cup horses out were Tim Whiffler, Welcome Jack, Envious, Tasman and Adamant. All did very serviceable work, especially Welcome Jack and Envious, who covered the mile and a-half in splendid style. Dime, in a fast half mile, showed capital form. Maori end Ugly Buck went ones ton id finishing very fast. ,■ Siesta and Johnny Faulkner covered the, ; mile at racing speed, the mare having the" [ best of it. Emir Bey went two miles si , half pace. Molly Bawn and Vidia weofc twice round, the former pulling up lame. Bubina, Mischief and Tim Whiffler-went . two miles at three-quarter pace in good ' style. All the steeplechasers did good t useful work. There is very little altera- } tion in the betting market. Hippodamie s is hardening for the Cup, 100 to 12 being , taken about her. Rubina, 7st 2lb, was I accidentally omitted from the Free Handily cap weights.

The favorite doubles are Archie and Calma, Archie and First Damon, Archie and Aide-da-Camp, all at 100 to 4 (off), Color and Calma (off), Color and Aide-<io-Camp, at 160 to 3, Signor and' Sardine, and Signor and Archie 100 to 2. Seven tipsters all picK Archie for .the Derby. They Cousider that if it is a slow race Archie is likely to win, bat should the weather continue fine they faqcy Signor.
