[by telegraph.] Wellington, To-day. 1 The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court opened before Judge Richmond this morning. Nine cases are on forbearing, but none of them of a serious character. The charge to the Grand Jury occupied only three or four minutes, no remarks of any importance being made. Christchurch. Christchurch, To-day. The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court opened this morning, hir Justice Johnston, in his charge, congratulated the Grand Jury on the lightness of the : calendar, which he said was one of the lightest he had known since he had pro-, sided at the Court. There were only six ■ persons charged, though some of the offences were of a serious nature.
