HOW TO DO IT.
To the Editor.
Sir,— l notice in your issue of yesterday a letter under the heading “ How it is done.” The writer is rath r sarcastic on the manner of stopping water adopted by our City Fathers. How far his objections are correct 1 am not prepared to say but one point in the case I should like’ to draw attention to. Whether or not the Council can be held responsibb for the damage suffered by Mr Walker I do not know, but i certainly think he is as much entitled to have his house raised to the proper level at their expense as a certain individual in Havelock street was, who had his front fence lowered at the time the street was brought to the proper level.
