A BOILER EXPLOSION.

Wellington, To-dsy. A boiler used for the purpose . a wood cutting machine at S. wood and coal yard, Tory street, .. .. ■ at one o’clock this afternoon. cusaion was felt over the greati - of the town. The shed in w; ; boiler waa situated was. c i .- wrecked, and large sheets of c. . . . iron were carried into the <ne . yards some distance away. .-i. ... standing within five yards of t sion escaped uninjured, but a c>-r, n-at twisted about considerably. C
was wrenched off and other damage win ustained which renders it unfit for use. The boiler itself is a mass of broken iron pistes, being torn as if brown papei and some of . the heavy parts wer ; lifted to the opposite side bf the yard, but fortunately no person was hurt. • A woman was in the yard picking up wood at the time, but beyond the fright received ho injury. T> e manager, and'.one of the workmen were in the shop adjoining taking dinner when the acci : dent occurred, and they in no way can account for the explosion. A large num;of windows were smashed by the concussion.
