ASHBURTON— To-Day.

(Before S. 0. S. Baddeley Esq, R.M.)

Drunkenness —Richard Lancaster was fined 20s for this offence, and a prohibition order was granted extending over the County of Ashburton. CIVIL CASES. Robinson and Townshend v. McKenzie and Smithcr, claim L 6 7s 3d.—Judgment for the amount claim-d and costs. K. Elston v. H. Eccles, claim LI 15s for bill sticking, etc. —Defendant pleaded that he was not the proprietor of the Marionettes, for which company the work was done, but only the advance agent. After hearing evidence, judgment was given for the amount claimed. Judgment went for the plaintiff's in the following cases:— Journeaux v. Hurley, L2 12s, and Craighead v. Cottrell, L 3 17s 6d.
