Messrs C. S. Ross and Co. report the sale of timber, ex Devenport, from New Zealand, as follows:—T and G flooring, 4 x at 7s 6d per 100 ft lineal; T and G flooring, 4 x at 4s per 1 ooft lineal. [Received Aug 27, 11.10 a.m.] Shipping. Melbourne, Yesterday. Arrived, last evening—Tarawera from the Bluff. The Annexation Conference, Melbourne, To-day.
The South Australian and; Tasmanian Governments have informed Mr Service that they would prefer that the annexe* tion conference should be held at the end ot October. Mr Service is trying to arrange a date that will be mutually convenient to all the colonies. Adelaide, Yesterday.
