Meeting to-£ay, the race for the Tattersall Two-year-old Stakes was won by King’s Own, Paraplui second. Charming third. The Loftus Handicap was won by Belvidere, Ascot and Norman running a dead heat for second place. [Recoived August 13, 2 p.m.] A Failure. Melbourne, To-day. The failure is announced to-day of Hemmons, Lares, and Co., wholesale druggists. A Freethought Apostle. Mr Robert Stout, of New Zealand, who is now on a visit here, delivered a lecture on free thought at the Opera House last night to a large audience.
