The two informers, Kavanagh and Hanlon, have each written a letter declaring that in consequence of the public feeling which has been manifested in Melbourne against the witnesses in the Phoenix Park trial, they have no desire to land in the colony, and solicit that they may be quietly sent to Calcutta or England. They state that they shipped through the instrumentality of Detective Simmons of the Police Force, and that their passages were engaged by him.
