The Trades and Labor Council disapproves of Mr Green’s new clause in the Eight Hours Bill and ask its withdrawal, preferring to stand by the Bill on its original form.
A Narrow Escape. At Mansford Town, McMahon, a laborer had a narrow escape from burning to death —his hut taking fi e while he was drunk. Be was severely burned, and has been sent to the Dunedin Hospital.
