The first item includes the cost of a 16 horse power engine, L 350, and the cost of dynamo, tm: The Library Report presented yesterday states that Mr Sheehan has presented to the Parliamentary Library several volumes of valuable works, amongst which are Paley’s “ Moral and Religious Philosophy,” and Wallace’s “ Observations on Brougham’s Natural Theology,” It is rumored that Mr Sheehan will leave the colony at the end of the session on a professional journey to the Home Country, as it is alleged that he has been specially retained for the prosecution of certain very extensive land claims pre <sed by the native owners against the New Zealand Government. An angry fight is anticipated between the Treasurer and Mr Dargaville in the House this afternoon, relating to the charges preferred by the latter against the former. The Treasurer’s motion for the appointment of a (Committee stands first on the order paper for to-day after the questions and the motions for leave to introduce Bills. Next in order is the motion of Mr Bolleston relating to the Government arrangement with the New Zealand Shipping Company.
