[rECTßr’s TELEGRAMS —COPYRIGHT.] ■ Disastrous Bush Fire. Sydney, Saturday. During a terrific gale a bush fire ignited at Gerringong, near the south, coast of this colony, and spread rapidly. Six homesteads were totally destroyed, and villages in the neighborhood of the bush were only saved with great difficulty. [Received July 30, 1.30 p.m.] Shipping. Sydney, To-day. Sailed, on Saturday afternoon —s.s. Wakatipu, for Wellington. A Sculling Match. A sculling match took place on the Parramatta river on Saturday between Edward Trickett and Beach, and resulted in a victory for the former.
