Brisbane To-day. The Ministry have adopted a memorandum on the question of the annexation of New Guinea to be transmitted to the Secretary of State and all the colonies. The document suggests that in the first place joint representation should be made by all the colonies to the Imperial Government, urging the further consideration of the question and the final decision in regard to New Guinea. It is further proposed that the Home Government should be invited to move in the direction of providing a federal Governor for Australasia. [Received July 18, 1 p.m.J Commercial Melbourne, To-day. The manager of the National M. and A. Co. of New Zealand, reports of the local grain market as follows Wheat is steady, but not in active demandat 4s nd to ss, for shipping parcels. Malting barley is quiet at 59 to 6s. New Zealand oats are quieter and weaker at 2s gd to 3s ud for feeding qualities, and 3s id to 3s 2d for milling sorts. New Zealand oats, under bond, are slow of sale at 2s id to 2s 4d.
