METHODIST UNION.
[by telegraph.] Christchurch, To-day.
The Committee appointed by the Wesleyan, Primitive Methodist, Free Methodist, and Bible Christian Churches to consider the question of Methodist Union in New Zealand met in the Durham street Church yesterday. Seventeen representatives were present. Rev. R. Bavin presided at the morning session, and Mr G. Booth at the afternoon. It was unanimously agreed that there is absolute unity as to the doctrines held, and the Committee stated by resolution that in this respect there was no barrier to the Union proposed. The rest of the day was spent in considering the construction of the Connexional Church Courts. Great interest in the subject was manifested, and a disposition to make necessary concessions was shown by all.
