Hr Service, the Premier, has received a telegram from the Agent-General in London stating that public opinion in England is favorable to the establishment of a protectorate over New Guinea and the New Hebrides. Mr Murray Smith suggests that the Colo- £ nies should make further collective £ proposals to the Imperial Government, | offering to pay a share of the expenses i of establishing a protectorate. ;
