The Supreme Court has decided that steam tramways are illegal, and as all the Government trams in this city are worked by steam motors, a special Cabinet meeting has been called for today to consider the difficulty. [Received May 19, 12.30 p.m.] The Proposed Exhibition. Melbourne, To-day. The Argus in a leading article supports Mr Twopeny’s proposal for holding a Colonial Exhibition in London. Death of the Comte de Ghambord. The Age to-day publishes a special telegram from London confirming the announcement of the death of the Comte de Chambord.
