Dunedin, To-dayt

A large wooden building in Stuart street was destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon. The house was owned by Dr Stenhouse and tenanted by Mrs Russell, who kept a boarding house, and was . the only person in'the building when the'fire was discovered. The brigade saved the adjoining building. The furniture was under insured. The mortgagee held a policy of L7OO in the Victoria Company, on the building. Serious Accident to a Merchant.

Mr John Glendining, of Kirkpatrick and Glendining, while out shooting at Waikouaiti yesterday, met with a serious accident. His gun burst, inflicting an injury which rendered the amputation of the left arm necessary. The Peninsula Seat.
