[Received Dec. 29, 12.30 a.m ] The Wreck at Clarence. Sydney, To-day. It has now been ascertained that the loss of life by the New England disaster will not exceed eleven. No more bodies have been washed ashore. The steamer has now broken up. She was insured for 1.9,000, the greater part of which is held by English offices, A Trans-Continental Railway. Brisbane, Yesterday. The Queensland Government has concluded a contract on the land grant system with an Australian syndicate for the construction of a trans-Continental railway to Port Parker, on the shore of the Gulf of Carpentaria.
