At their wool sale to-day, Messrs Goldsborough and Co., Limited, catalogued 5,400 bales, of which 4,300 were sold. Very satisfactory prices were realised, greasy merino ranging; up to and washed ditto to 23d Sporting.

Navigator is the favorite in the betting on the Champion Stakes, to be run at the Victoria Racing Club’s New Year’s Meeting. The following are the latest odds :—Navigator, 7 to 4 ; Commotion, sto 2; Darebin, Bto 1. [Received Dec. 21, Ipm.] The Chimbarazo. Melbourne, To-day. Arrived—Orient steamship Chimborazo, from Plymouth (November 6). Fire. An extensive fire occurred this morning, at the' premises of Messrs Hemons, Laws and Co., wholesale chemists, 55 and 57, Russell street, Melbourne. The fire raged for some time, but has now been completely subdued. The extent of the damage is not yet conclusively known, but the loss is believed to be very heavy.
